CHOPSMITH READER 1.0.0
Free. Reads a song's tempo, where its bars start, its key and its chords,
and sets your Live set's tempo and Scale to them. A Max for Live audio effect.

YOU NEED

  - A Mac (Apple silicon or Intel)
  - Ableton Live 12 with Max for Live (Live Suite, or Live Standard with
    the Max for Live add-on)

INSTALL

Quickest: drag Chopsmith Reader.amxd from Finder onto any audio track.

To have it in Live's browser, copy it into your User Library:
    Chopsmith Reader.amxd ->  User Library/Presets/Audio Effects/Max Audio Effect/
(The User Library is in ~/Music/Ableton/ unless you've moved it. In Live:
  Settings > Library shows where.)

USING IT

  1. Put the Reader on any audio track.
  2. Click an audio clip (on any track). The Reader reads the clip that's
open in Live's clip view: in a second or two you see its tempo, where
bar 1 starts, its key and its chords, bar by bar.
  3. Set tempo puts your set on the song's tempo. Set scale sets Live's
Scale to the song's key, so MIDI clips, Push and Live's MIDI tools play
in key. The small 1/2x or 2x button switches to the other tempo reading
     (half or double time).
  4. Play the clip: the chords follow along, the bar playing lit up.

A clip of 32 seconds or less that sounds like a loop is read as one: a
whole number of bars, starting on the 1.

WANT MORE?

Chopsmith, the Reader's big brother, cuts tempo-locked loops from any
song or its stems, pastes them into Session or Arrangement and turns them
  into MIDI: https://synchaven.syncpodcast.com/chopsmith/
